digipak: more editing on picnik

Once creating a song it is very important to sell the product therefore a interesting digipak which relates to it has to be made. I am trailing different ideas and layouts for the digipak, and today i am testing whether editing the images actually does look more professional then the original photo. I am also deciphering whether i want the same image to be spread over 3 panels.

Digipak: testing out different softwares

In order to create our digipak we had to try out different softwares to gain a good professional image. I have tried out photoshop and i admittedly found it difficult to use. I have now tested out an online editing website called "picnik". Below are a few images i took of the editing on the site.

digi pak: practicing on photoshop

To create our digipak we have to apply a number of pictures to our album cover. We want to continue with our theme and genre so our digipak relates directly to our song. We also want it to look professional and expensive and so i will edit a selection of images on photoshop. I will try different effects and filters and apply different layers to create the look i want.
IDEAS

Digipak: ideas for digipak

I have started to look at still images from our music video to use in our digipak. This is so their is continuity and a house style for our product so that it works well as a unit. This also is very professional as people will recognise and identity the product, many album covers do this.
Here are a few still images i have captured from our music video "Im sorry by Amanda lucas".

Planning/Increasing potential audience/advertising product:Magazine advertisement

This is a good example of a magazine advertisement for a song. i am looking at this because as well as making a music video we will have to create a digipak and poster which will help generate and promote sales. The poster has an interesting image on it and also features the Album name and artist name. The band/singer must have had a hit song "in the Shadows" as it is told it features on the album, this is to let the audience know that the popular song is on the track list. The rating is also present on the poster by a professional music magazine and there are websites where you can see the artists.

This is the album art for the album which works alongside the promotion, as you can see the image on the front of the album is the same as what it on the poster, and the roses in the back of the image which is on the front cover is on the interior. The background of the poster is turquoise, this colour is featured on the digipak.

Images of editing

These are images of the group editing, editing was a lengthly process and we all took our time to do the process. In these pictures you can see us on our iMac using the software Final Cut express.

editing final video: feedback to help us improve

As a group we watched our final video to find out what we could improve on, we also got other people our age who the video would appeal to to view it as well. We then asked for feedback as well as using our own knowledge on music video to judge it. Some people said some of the shots were too long and that bored them, and that in some places the lip synchronization did not match the music and therefore it did not look realistic. However they said we had some interesting shots and locations which looked beautiful and matched the calm and relaxing song.

Seeing as we have been studying music videos for a long time we compared our outcome to videos of a similar genre. we realized that some of our shots were too boring and lasted too long compared to other videos and that we needed to add more interesting transitions which wood help the video flow better. I really like the ending and some of the editing we have done but we just need to spice the video up a bit to make it talked about.
